Stretching for 96 miles, the Illinois and Michigan Canal is a testament to human ingenuity. Hand dug by thousands of immigrants, the I and M Canal is responsible for making the City of Chicago and her suburbs what they are today. This exhibit focuses on the Illinois Michigan Canal as it appears today, and some of the adjacent parks, buildings and industry that sprang up along the canal's historic path.

- For years, Tom Gill has set out with his camera to photograph the splendors of the environment. He spends time most every weekend exploring the natural and man made wonders of the southeastern portion of Lake Michigan, particularly lighthouses, the National Lakeshore, barns, and small town nostalgia. Tom holds a Fine Arts Degree in design from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and aside from photography, enjoys woodworking, sketching, painting, and hiking with his family.
